Can my pet get rejected to travel by a MOCCAE vet?

Yes, there is a possibility of your pet getting rejected to travel a MOCCAE vet if for some reason his/her microchip isn’t scannable/readable during the physical visit, if your pet demonstrates any visible signs of disease or illnesses and if there are any issues with your pet’s vaccination book and not in compliance with the required guidelines.

Please bear in mind that for every visit to the MOCCAE, you are required to have the original vaccination book of your pet – should this essential document be missing, your pet will not be eligible to be assessed by an official pet. This book is required to be the latest version and fully updated by an authorized pet healthcare provider.

Now, in the case that your pet’s microchip isn’t detected during the visit, he/she will be required to be microchipped again from your local vet along with being re-vaccinated for rabies. Post the relevant vaccinations, you will need to wait a minimum of 21 – 30 days before traveling based on the rules and regulations of the country of travel.

In most cases of rejection, MOCCAE specifies reasons on a case-by-case basis and in the occurrence of this, Sandy Paws will liaise with the official entity and inform you of the next steps to follow.
