Easy, all you’d need to follow through is a simple registration process. Visit the Dubai Municipality, or an authorized veterinary clinic that offers registration services or you can also speak to us! Make sure you carry proof of your ownership and the vaccination status of your pet as this will be needed. Once the paperwork has been completed, you will get an SMS that gives you your ID tag number!

According to the law, your furry companion must be equipped with a microchip along with being vaccinated against rabies vaccination to become an official member of the Dubai Municipality's pet community.

Remember, this registration process happens annually, along with the renewal of their vaccinations, too. Dogs get their Dhppi/L and Rabies shots, while cats require vaccinations against Flu/Enteritis and Rabies.

In addition to their rabies vaccination, you would also need to ensure that it’s not past its expiration date. In other words, it must be administered within the past year and still be valid when you register for the tag.

Lastly, it is essential that your pet is microchipped in order to receive any vaccines, and thereby be applicable to register for an ID.

Once you have all the necessary documents, it's time to visit the municipality office. You will be connected to the Smart Government website and asked a series of questions that include information about you, your address, and your email, along with supporting documents. Following this, the next set of questions will revolve around the specifics of your pet including breed, sex, age etc., and once this is complete, ta-da, your pet is officially registered within the Dubai pet community!
