Will my pet be sedated during the flight?
Absolutely not. Your pet will travel in temperature and pressure-controlled cargo hold. Sedatives or tranquilizers of any kind are not strictly permitted on pets however altitude works as a natural sedative which helps them sleep through the flight. We do not use them and should you administer any sort of sedative in front of us to your pet, we will surely be rescheduling their travels. In line with the regulatory framework and exercising 100% ethical practices, no airlines accept pets that appear to be sedated as this may interfere with their natural coping and breathing mechanisms.
Thankfully, there are several alternatives that work better than these. A few of them would be on the lines of herbal stress relievers, i.e. a spot of chamomile tea might aid in relaxing your pet or valerian that supports in reducing anxiety, a whiff of lavender oil, so on and so forth. We recommend consulting a veterinarian before using any of these options to ensure correct dosage.
Furthermore, please ensure you introduce any of these holistic methods at least a month prior to their travels to see how they are reacting to them and if they truly aid in relieving them from stress or anxiety.
